The Mandala Exchange is an interactive blogspot where mandala projects, resources, ideas, and knowledge can be shared. The Exchange was formed to be able to continue the mandala work presented at the 2011 AATA conference, "Communicating Through Mandalas: Exploring Traditional and Online Media with Fellow Therapists". The presenters and moderators of this site, wanted the cycle of the mandala to continue and expand through a virtual community of practitioners, artists and explorers.
This has been a totally new and rewarding experience. I have gained so much from the process of getting the panel together (with Sara and Amy, Carol and Mareta) we may just want to re-peat the experience in the future. It has been motivating to see and hear your stories. I am sure there are many other art and creative therapists that can relate to the need to self-soothe.
ReplyDeleteBe bold, make your mark.
Now, stand by it.
So proud of you expressive ladies! You will be fabulous ...please record video and post!
ReplyDeletethank you ladies for such an inspiring presentation at the 2011 AATA conference. You motivated me to start my own mandala project to follow me through my current internship. Today I created my first mandala in response to a very crazy day on site. Even after one mandala I could feel myself relaxing and coming back to center. (I will try and post an image of the piece soon)
ReplyDelete"emdavis" So glad that you enjoyed the presentation and that you've decided to create mandalas. It sounds like you've already felt the power of them! Please do post your image if you feel comfortable doing so. We'd love to see it. Keep us posted on how mandalas impact your work.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed your presentation at the conference. (Even quoted Sheila on our facebook page for the Art Therapy Institute)
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your beautiful stories and art!
